It’s not often that I will venture to the bottom of Snoqualmie Falls for a photo shoot, but last night we threw caution to the wind and went out on a mini-adventure.  I guess that makes Carson one special senior!  It was well worth the hike. The sun was setting fast, and we had just a few minutes to capture the golden light on the waterfall’s bluff.

I made the mistake of leaving my lighting adapter in the car, which meant I wouldn’t be able to use my flash off-camera.  Gabriel and I improvised a solution, which I think worked just as well.  He held a large reflector off camera, to which I pointed my on-camera flash.  The reflected light illuminated Carson, giving some dimensionality, and still allowed for great exposure throughout the image.  I loved the result.  I think we’ll try this more often!
