Well, it’s that time again for an “out with the old, in with the new” facelift for our website, blog and even logo. For a long time, I have wanted to bring everything we do under one virtual roof – our portrait work that includes high school seniors, families, couples and grandparents, as well as our wedding photography. I have to say, I love the new look! Young Actor Headshots in Seattle

Yes, the rush in on to get updated headshots for the upcoming theater auditions, and today I had the fun of working with the next generation of young actors. This time, two sisters who share the love of acting and have the talent and enthusiasm needed to take this all the way. During our headshot sessions, I will always photograph for both a commercial and a theatrical look. Here are a few of my favorites from the day…

Last year I was invited to photograph Connor for his actor headshots – this week was his sister Elizabeth’s turn. How great to have so much talent in one family! Elizabeth has a fantastic smile and I was amazed at how easily she was able to perform for the camera. She has a brilliant future ahead.

Kelsey is not only a fantastic young actor, but also a pretty fantastic model. Out of all the fabulous images she had to choose from, this was her favorite – one of the very last ones taken during her session. What a pro!

It’s always cool when I get to see the young actors I’ve taken headshots for perform on stage. Connor is a young actor I photographed a few months ago, and now he is staring in Core Theatrics production of ‘Romeo and Juliet.’ Hmmm…now that I think of it, I have photographed the headshots for at least seven of the cast members – Connor was just the most recent. Wow!

Yesterday, Alyssa and I were invited to photograph the final dress rehearsal before opening tonight. I look forward to going back this evening and enjoying the whole performance without camera in hand. If it’s anything like what we witnessed already, the show is going to be brilliant!

Andy is a young actor who enjoys the theater and has a bright future ahead of him. He needed a new headshot for his acting resume, so we tried a few different ideas during his session. I know that the commercial look is by far the most popular for young actors – happy, smiling, engaging – but there was something about this more serious image that was captivated my attention and made me take a second look. And a third. After all, isn’t that what a good headshot should do? Andy, may you have much fun and build wonderful memories in your time spent in the theater, bringing laughter and joy to others. Shakespeare’s Romeo. Dr. Seuss’ Horton. Can the roles get any more diverse? Maybe so, but in Connor’s case, I’m sure he’d be happy to jump right in. I had the pleasure of photographing Connor this morning for some new headshots to further his acting career. This image struck me the moment I saw it. If I were a casting director, I’d definitely want to meet the young man in this picture – wouldn’t you? I can’t wait to see Connor’s performance later this summer in Core Theatrics production of “Romeo and Juliet”. He’s playing Romeo. I’m positive he’ll be brilliant.
