It’s always cool when I get to see the young actors I’ve taken headshots for perform on stage.  Connor is a young actor I photographed a few months ago, and now he is staring in Core Theatrics production of ‘Romeo and Juliet.’  Hmmm…now that I think of it, I have photographed the headshots for at least seven of the cast members – Connor was just the most recent. Wow!

Yesterday, Alyssa and I were invited to photograph the final dress rehearsal before opening tonight.  I look forward to going back this evening and enjoying the whole performance without camera in hand.  If it’s anything like what we witnessed already, the show is going to be brilliant!

Andy is a young actor who enjoys the theater and has a bright future ahead of him.  He needed a new headshot for his acting resume, so we tried a few different ideas during his session.  I know that the commercial look is by far the most popular for young actors – happy, smiling, engaging – but there was something about this more serious image that was captivated my attention and made me take a second look.  And a third.  After all, isn’t that what a good headshot should do?  Andy, may you have much fun and build wonderful memories in your time spent in the theater, bringing laughter and joy to others.  Let me know when we can see you perform!

Shakespeare’s Romeo.  Dr. Seuss’ Horton.  Can the roles get any more diverse?  Maybe so, but in Connor’s case, I’m sure he’d be happy to jump right in.  I had the pleasure of photographing Connor this morning for some new headshots to further his acting career.  This image struck me the moment I saw it.  If I were a casting director, I’d definitely want to meet the young man in this picture – wouldn’t you?  I can’t wait to see Connor’s performance later this summer in Core Theatrics production of “Romeo and Juliet”.  He’s playing Romeo. I’m positive he’ll be brilliant.
