After tallying the 427 votes that came in through this blog and Facebook, Josh and Lindsey led the pack with 98 total votes for the win.  Congratulations you two! Josh and Lindsey will receive a 16×20 metallic canvas float wrap of their winning image, thanks to the support of their family and friends.  Woot!

Not far from the top was #3, Laura’s senior image coming in second place with 79 total votes.  Because she did such a good job of rallying her troops, we decided to include a 2nd place prize of an 11×14 mounted print for Laura of her model-icious senior portrait.  Congratulations, Laura!

Rounding out the top three was #16, Hylan and Rita with their grandson, Zion, gathering 66 votes.  They deserved to be rewarded as well, so they are receiving an 8×10 mounted print of this beautiful family moment.

We couldn’t leave it with just the top three taking home something special, without also acknowledging five other contestants who each received more than 20 votes each on their images.  So bringing home “Honorable Mentions” and a 5×7 print of their selected image are:  #9, Acacia with 37 votes; #18, Paula with 36 votes; # 20, Curtis and Kristine with 22 votes; #6, Traci with 20 votes; and #22, Andy and Annika with 20 votes.  Congratulations to all the winners and their family and friends – thanks for participating!

With 2009 now behind us, I couldn’t think of a better way to reflect on the year gone by than to review the images from the incredible families and individuals I was blessed to photograph…and to bring my favorites here for help in selecting the “Best of 2009″!  It was so hard to narrow it down – many times even within a single session – so please don’t feel hurt if one of your images wasn’t selected for voting. I wish I could have everyone represented.

*Float Wraps: Float Wraps provide a great new option to display your photographs in a clean, modern way.  They are created by wrapping the photographic print around masonite (sturdy board)  to create a thin wrap. The print is protected with a laminate and padding is added between the print and the masonite to give the front of the Float Wrap a raised, elegant look and feel.

So it was such a  cool treat to hear from Ashley over the Christmas holiday – coming home to be with their families, she wanted to make sure that a family photo session was high on the agenda.  It was so great to see the love continue to grow throughout this lovely family…

Ashley’s family was so full of life and ready to move onto the fun and spontaneous – this was totally their suggestion and inspiration, which I think they pulled off perfectly!

It was then onto an afternoon session with Dean’s family on the dock of their neighbor’s home.

No one expected the bugs to surface so quickly in the middle of winter (!), so we cut our time short on the dock and ended up photographing in other spaces.  I loved the tree swing which made a great spot for a relaxed family portrait.

I love this first image, especially the way Hailey and Jordan are connecting to each other by holding hands.  I’m positive I didn’t tell them to do that!

This series is going to make a great wall collection for their home…
