Bar Mitzvah – literally, “Son of the Commandment” (or “one to whom the commandments apply”) is an important coming-of-age ceremony for young men that signifies taking responsibility for their own spiritual life. It was easy to see that Andrew was well-prepared for this life transition – both in his handling of a very lengthy Hebrew reading from the Torah scroll, and his insights of the scripture which he delivered flawlessly.
