becca. ~senior photos, class of 2010 in Kirkland, Washington

It was a beautiful winter day when Becca and I hooked up at the Kirkland waterfront marina for her senior pictures.  Knowing that Becca is an awesome photographer, I wanted to try some new things with her, and am so glad I did.  One challenge I gave myself was to see Becca through a different lens – literally.  Instead of relying on my favorite 70-200mm portrait lens, I tried to give equal or greater time with the 50mm 1.2.  The results were great!  I especially loved how this lens let me give priority focus to her beautiful eyes.  Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

We were walking up to the town center, when we passed by a small patch of tall grasses off of the parking lot.  I think Becca and I had the same thought at the same time – a perfect spot for a photo op!

mandie - Love the one of Becca in the grass! That 50mm f/1.2 does great things.

Lorraine Marie - Thanks, Mandie. Have you been able to play with this lens at all? It’s as good as they say. I saw your recent pics on FB – you’re doing a fabulous job! It looked like your mentoring session went really well. I loved the images she took of you!
