sandblast. ~lorraine marie, duvall photographer

I’ve lived in Duvall for 20+ years.  After the first seven years, I finally discovered the river that runs along the town.  Of course, I knew we had a river…I just didn’t realize that it came with an incredible sandy bank, picnic area, and beautiful scenery to pass the summer afternoons.  It’s a good thing that other Duvall residents are not as dense about the beauty contained in our own backyard.  Each July, the town comes together to celebrate a fun-filled sandblast festival, complete with music, food, crafts, and the piece d’resistance:  a unique sand castle sculpted by area residents.  This year did not disappoint.  Here are some sights found in Duvall today…

Carson Baker - Wow. Thats an impressive sandcastle!

Lorraine Marie - Yes, it is! I’m sad I wasn’t there to watch it being built.
