They met half a world away from the life she once led – away from a very involved community of friends, who would have scrutinized this new man intently as he pursued after Jen’s heart. To his good fortune, by the time Adam was introduced to Jen’s family and friends stateside, much of the convincing had already been done…for listening to Jen describe the obstacles they had overcome, it was apparent that her love for Adam – and his for her – was strong to weather the storms that life could bring.
Friday evening, Jen and Adam braved storms of a different kind when they married in an outdoor ceremony at Lake Wilderness Lodge. The skies threatened rain…and at times it poured…but in the end, they had the ceremony they planned at this serene and scenic lakeside location.

I love this sequence of photos…while we ducked under cover to evade the downpour of rain, we decided to have some fun with the bridal party photos. Jen and Adam were more than willing to oblige. The photo on the left was the image I captured, while the one on the right was the one taken from Alyssa’s vantage point. Who would have thought that the very same moment could yield such a different perspective and mood? (btw: Alyssa’s capture is hands-down the better of the two!)

The expression of Adam’s daughter Gaby was priceless during the first-kiss!

Jen and Adam, you may have met in Israel, but we’re the ones who are blessed to have you as part of our community here in Washington. May you be blessed with an overwhelming measure of love, joy, laughter, and peace throughout your lives together. We’ll see you soon!
